Daytime talk show host Jeremy Kyle was in the winners’ enclosure at Fontwell Park when his wife’s horse Sonning Star won the Cortaflex For Horses Juvenile Maiden Hurdle on Sunday 3rd February. The Nick Gifford trained four year old, ridden by Noel Fehily, had finished an encouraging sixth on his jumps debut over the course and distance before Christmas.

Talk show host Jeremy Kyle had a runner at Fontwell Park’s pre-Christmas meeting. Sonning Star, trained by Nick Gifford, came 6th on his debut over hurdles. Jeremy is photographed with his wife Carla.

Following the success of Or Jaune and Enthusius, a third Fontwell Park Partnership has been launched. The horse being syndicated is a five year old gelding called Moshahed, trained by Brendan Powell. For further details see Press Releases.

The Children’s Trust Mascot Egg and Spoon Dash was one of the highlights of Fontwell Park’s Family Race Day on Sunday 9th September. Some of the competitors were photographed in the Parade Ring before the big race which was won by Reggie the Red from Crawley Town FC.

Former England cricketer Phil Tufnell was at Fontwell Park on Sunday 9th September and bumped into Oilly the Otter, who was the Southern Water representative in the Children’s Trust Mascot Egg and Spoon Dash. Tufnell was at the course in his capacity as an ambassador of betting firm Betbrokers who sponsored one of the races.

Joyce Edmunds from Bognor Regis is off on a luxury cruise from New York to Southampton after winning Fontwell Park’s Best Dressed Lady competition. The Ladies Evening prize was donated by Ocean World Travel and Cunard. Joyce is photographed with the host of the evening Danny Pike from Southern FM.

Fontwell Park’s refurbished saddling boxes were completed in time for the meeting on Thursday 23rd August. There are rubber surfaces on the floors and walls. The roofs have also been raised to give the horses more head room. The unsaddling enclosure has also been extended.

More celebrities at Fontwell Park! Actor Martin Clunes came to the course to see his wife’s horse Waltzing Beau win his first race over hurdles.
