CALENDAR HIGHLIGHTS
There is jump racing at Fontwell Park every month of the year apart from July and during the season we aim to appeal to the widest possible audience by offering a variety of themes at our fixtures.
There are high prize money fixtures such as Countryside Race Day in February when we offer more than £100,000 of prize money. At this meeting in 2009 we will be offering a record £60,000 for the totesport.com National Spirit Hurdle over two miles and four furlongs. This race is a recognised Cheltenham Festival trial and was won by Lough Derg in 2008 and My Way de Solzen in 2006.
We have Family Days in March, May, September and October with plenty of entertainment organised for Mum, Dad and the children including fun fair rides, a pet’s corner, bouncy castles and face painters. Don’t forget children aged 15 and under are admitted free of charge to all race meetings. Our popular evening meetings are known as ‘Parties in the Park’ when there is live music after racing. These take place in May and August (Ladies Evening).
We also have Super Irish Saturday in October and The Big Autumn Race Day in November which includes the popular long distance chase, the £25,000 Southern National as well as a Food and Drink Fair. We end the year with Christmas Party Race Days in December.
Fontwell Park has been voted the ‘Best Small Racecourse in the South East’ for the last 17 years by the Racegoers Club.
