There are 23 race meetings at Fontwell Park in 2008 with the meetings evenly spread across the year apart from July, when there is no racing. During the year we aim to appeal to the widest possible audience by offering a variety of themes at our fixtures.
There are high prize money fixtures such as Countryside Race Day on Sunday 24th February when we are offering £100,000 of prize money including a record £50,000 for the totesport.com National Spirit Hurdle over two miles and four furlongs. This race is a recognised trial for races at the prestigious Cheltenham Festival.
We have Family Days with plenty of entertainment organised for Mum, Dad and the children including fun fair rides, bouncy castles and face painters. We also have our popular evening meetings known as ‘Parties in the Park’ when there is live music after racing.
Other feature meetings include Ladies Evening on Thursday 21st August when we’ll be giving away a cruise to the Best Dressed Lady.
We also have Super Irish Saturday on Saturday 4th October and Food and Drink Fair Race Day on Sunday 16th November which also includes the popular long distance chase, The Southern National. We end the year with Christmas Party Race Days in December.
Fontwell Park has been voted the ‘Best Small Racecourse in the South East’ for the last 17 years by the Racegoers Club.
Whether you're a racing enthusiast, a corporate group, a group of friends or on a family outing we guarantee a warm welcome and a great day out at Fontwell Park.
