One of the most important decisions of the day.
Overall Fontwell Park runs a relaxed dress code that matches our relaxed nature. Wear what is comfortable for you, but remember to dress for the elements as we do hold meetings all year round. Due to local and national Covid-19 restrictions there will be do indoor facilities available on racedays.
Spectators are therefore strongly recommended to dress for the outdoor event that it will be; wellies, warm clothes; hats and scarves would be appropriate!
For the foreseeable future racing at Fontwell Park will be an outdoor event (akin to a traditional Point-to-Point) and we recommend spectators dress accordingly to ensure maximum enjoyment from their visit.
Fancy Dress
Fancy dress is only permitted in the Paddock and Grandstand enclosure. Many people choose to come in fancy dress for some of our feature days such as St Patrick’s Raceday or for stag and hen parties. Please avoid any offensive dress as this will not be tolerated and you may be refused entry.
Men should wear collared shirts. A tie is not essential. Smart jeans and tailored shorts are acceptable (they must not be ripped or torn). We do not permit jogging bottoms, fancy dress, sports or beach wear, non-tailored shorts and trainers. Many customers opt to dress for the occasion on feature race days.
There is no dress code in this enclosure, however, any offensive clothing will not be tolerated and may be asked to be covered up.
Many customers choose to dress for the occasion on feature race days however this is not a requirement. Some racedays may include a best-dressed competition which may include a fancy dress or glamour theme. For example the popular Christmas Jumper Competition at our Festive Raceday or the Best Dressed Lady competition at Ladies Evening.
